Aunt Grace’s Pecan Pie

Okay, I told you how to make homemade pie crust.  Now you can either roll it out and cut shapes with cookie cutters and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and bake for your kids, or:

You can make a pie!

When I was young I really did not care for pecan pie. Mom did not make it very much.  Then we moved to Wyoming and I ate some of Aunt Grace’s Pecan Pie  and it is now a favorite of mine.  In most things that call for pecans I usually throw in extra just cause I like them.  You might want to be a little careful when you do things like that but you can be fairly safe with pecans.

Beat together:

9” pie

3 eggs
2/3 C. sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 C. butter, melted
1 C. dark corn syrup
Mix in: 1 1/2 C pecan halves

For 8″ Pie

2 eggs
½ C. sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 C butter, melted
3/4 C dark corn syrup
1 1/4 C

Bake at 375 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes
